Which Polish civil records can be translated?

Corpus translates readable Polish civil-status records supplied by the customer, including an odpis aktu urodzenia, odpis aktu małżeństwa, or odpis aktu zgonu.

These are copies of birth, marriage, and death records issued through Poland's Urząd Stanu Cywilnego, often abbreviated USC. In this context, Polish USC means the civil registry office. It is not U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. A record may be an odpis zupełny (full copy) or odpis skrócony (abridged copy), on paper or in electronic form, when that is what the customer supplies.

The U.S. State Department's current Poland guidance identifies a full-form birth certificate for its immigrant-visa process. It describes newer full copies as two-sided A4 documents and notes that older A5 forms may remain valid in Poland. That guidance is recipient-specific, not a universal filing rule. Check the intended recipient's current instructions and scan both sides. Corpus translates the supplied version; it does not obtain a replacement or choose which version a filing needs.

See the document guidance for birth certificate translation, marriage certificate translation, and divorce decree translation.

How are Polish identity, police, court, and academic records handled?

Each visible field stays connected to its source label and row.

Customer-provided files may include Polish passport or identity-card pages, court or administrative records, and a National Criminal Register (Krajowy Rejestr Karny) response. Corpus translates what appears in the source. It does not verify authenticity, obtain a police record, or decide whether a particular record is required. Related preparation guidance is available for passport and identity document translation and police clearance translation.

Academic files may include a dyplom ukończenia studiów, suplement do dyplomu, transcript, grade table, or świadectwo dojrzałości. Institution names, titles, subjects, grades, seals, registry numbers, and continuation pages remain tied to the source layout. Dense tables, verification blocks, handwriting, or faint stamps require quote review. Corpus does not evaluate credentials. See academic translation services for guidance.

How are Polish letters, names, dates, and identifiers treated?

Polish uses the Latin alphabet with letters including ą, ć, ę, ł, ń, ó, ś, ź, ż. Corpus preserves the source spelling and diacritics in source-identification and contextual fields.

Polish-to-English work usually requires consistent name spelling, not conversion from a non-Latin script. Ł is not silently changed to L, and Ż is not treated as Z in the source. If a passport or recipient record supplies an existing Latin-character spelling that clearly identifies the same person, Corpus can use that spelling consistently. A genuine conflict is flagged rather than guessed, and no anglicized name is invented.

Surnames, given names, middle names, initials, birth surnames (nazwisko rodowe), and case-inflected forms remain tied to their fields. Two forms are not normalized into one identity without source support. Numeric Polish dates are often day-first, so dates are rendered unambiguously without swapping day and month. Visible PESEL numbers, document series, registry numbers, punctuation, and leading zeroes are preserved.

What makes a Polish document scan complete?

A complete scan shows all four edges, both sides, attachments, seals, annotations, and fine print.

Send straight, well-lit color scans or photos without glare over stamps or security elements. Older A5 civil records and newer two-sided A4 records make front-and-back completeness especially important, but format alone does not prove validity or authenticity. Include marginal notes, cancellations, handwritten additions, verification strings or QR labels, and reverse-side content. Corpus translates or describes visible content and marks genuinely illegible material instead of guessing.

Do not crop corners or omit a reverse side before checking it for a stamp or note. There is no mandatory DPI; the text, numbers, seals, and handwriting must be readable. Damaged, partial, faint, densely stamped, handwritten, mixed-language, or electronic-verification files need quote review.

Should I start an order or request a quote?

Start an order for an eligible clear standard file with a known page count; request a quote whenever the source or recipient instructions need review.

Start Your Order: Choose direct checkout for a complete, readable Polish document with a standard layout, known page count, and no recipient-specific customization. Eligible files start at $19.99 per page and may qualify for standard 24-hour delivery after scope confirmation. See pricing for the current service structure.

Get a Quote: Choose quote review for handwriting, faint or damaged text, dense tables or stamps, cropped or partial scans, old or electronic-verification records, multiple documents, mixed Polish and another language, uncertain page counts, ambiguous names or dates, unusual layouts, or recipient-specific instructions. Quote review confirms scope, price, and delivery timing before payment.

What does certified Polish written translation include?

The completed digital packet contains an English rendering of the supplied Polish content and a signed Certificate of Accuracy.

For USCIS submissions, the published foreign-language rule requires a full English translation certified as complete and accurate, with certification that the translator is competent to translate. Corpus supplies certified written document translation; USCIS and every other recipient make their own decisions. Check the USCIS certified translation service and USCIS translation checklist against the current instructions for the filing.

Corpus does not provide interpretation, notarization, apostille procurement, hard-copy mailing, legal advice, document procurement, or credential evaluation. Explore other supported written-document languages on the languages hub.

Frequently asked questions

What does certified Polish document translation cost?

Eligible clear, complete, standard files with a known page count start at $19.99 per page. Handwritten, faint, damaged, mixed-language, dense, unusual-layout, or recipient-specific work needs quote review so Corpus can confirm the readable scope, price, and delivery timing before payment.

Can you translate a Polish birth or marriage certificate?

Yes. Corpus can translate a complete, readable Polish birth or marriage record supplied by the customer. The English translation includes all visible fields, names, dates, registry details, seals, annotations, and relevant reverse-side content. Include every page and both used sides.

Do I need an odpis zupełny or odpis skrócony?

The intended recipient decides which version it requires. Corpus translates the record supplied and does not choose the version. The U.S. State Department currently identifies a full birth record for its immigrant-visa process, but that recipient-specific example is not a universal rule.

How are Polish letters and name spellings handled?

Corpus preserves source diacritics such as ą, ł, and ż. A source-supported passport or recipient spelling may be used consistently when it clearly identifies the same person. Conflicting or unclear names are flagged for review rather than guessed or anglicized.

Do you translate Polish diplomas and diploma supplements?

Yes. When supplied and readable, Polish diplomas and supplements can be translated with institution names, titles, subjects, grades, tables, seals, reference details, and continuation pages preserved. Dense tables, electronic verification blocks, faint marks, or unusual layouts need quote review.

How do you handle stamps, handwriting, and the back of a Polish document?

Corpus includes all visible stamps, seals, signature labels, handwriting, annotations, and relevant reverse-side content. Faint, cropped, handwritten, densely stamped, damaged, two-sided, or multipage files route to quote review so legibility and full scope can be checked.

Should I start an order or request a quote?

Start a direct order for an eligible clear, complete, standard file with a known page count. Request a quote for mixed-language, unclear, dense, damaged, handwritten, packet, unusual-layout, uncertain-page-count, or recipient-specific files that need scope review before payment.

Who decides whether my certified Polish translation meets the requirement?

The receiving authority controls the required record version, name spelling, translation direction, certification format, originals or copies, and final decision. Corpus supplies the certified written translation and signed Certificate of Accuracy without promising a filing or recipient outcome.

Polish to English certified translation

Polish to English certified translation is a complete English rendering of Polish USC civil records plus the translator’s signed certification that the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent to translate from Polish into English. That pairing is what 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) requires. Corpus Localization prepares that certified packet for USCIS purposes at $19.99/page for eligible standard documents, as an ATA corporate member (#M-189351).
